ORGINALLY Endorsed by Hall of Fame player, Gale Sayers of the Chicago Bears.

Gale Sayers football career with the Chicago Bears spanned 7 years and in 1977 he was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. After seven reconstructive knee surgeries and countless medications to control the pain, Gale still suffered from chronic knee pain.

The Washington Times - February 1, 2004

Injuries are keeping America's greatest marathoner, Khalid Khannouchi, out of Saturday's Olympic Marathon Trials.

"For the last eight months, I have being dealing with chronic injury on my foot and my knee," Khannouchi said Dec.3 in announcing his withdrawal from a second consecutive U.S. Olympic Trials. Such injuries have cut short many an athlete's career, whether they be runners, basketball players or football stars.

Arguably, the greatest career cut short because of debilitating knee injuries and foot and ankle ailments was that of Chicago Bears running back Gale Sayers, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Sayers played in 68 games with the Bears in 4 seasons before his knees sent him to the sideline for good in 1971 at age 28.

Since then, Sayers says, he has tried literally every product on the market to alleviate the chronic pain brought on by inflammation and arthritis caused by two knee operations while he was playing and another three after he retired.

"GS didn't even work," said Sayers, referring to glucosamine sulfate, which this writer and many other runners have used with great success to combat knee pain through cartilage rebuilding.

"Even back then , you heard so much about ways to alleviate pain," Sayers said. "You see things on TV, you try everything, but nothing worked."

It wasn't until about a year ago that Sayers had a chance meeting with an acquaintance in Phoenix who turned him onto the new Etaprin Ultimate Relief System.

"This woman knew the By Doctors Only , and she asked me to go and talk to them," Sayers said from his Chicago office last week. "They showed me the system, the creams. They said, 'Gale, if you take this, you will not feel pain anymore,' and I said, 'Yes, I know .' Put it on your knees and see what happens. One night I put it on both knees and went to bed. I woke up the next morning, and I couldn't believe how good I felt. I was very excited what was happening to me, no pain."

The system consists of three products: GS40 Relief Cream for pain relief, Etaprin Pain Relief Capsules as an anti-inflammatory and Opti-Flow Capsules to increase blood flow, which encourages faster healing time, oxygenation, nerve health and more. For runners, the particular appeal of the topical cream is that it is supposed to relieve tendinitis and sciatica.

Eventually, Sayers said, he began taking the capsules and the Opti-Flow, too. Then he decided to share the system with his wife, who had suffered hip problems for 25 years.

She couldn't lay on her right side," Sayers recounted. "She tried it and, lo and behold, she could sleep on her right side. She's not an athlete, but she knows how bad my knees are the pain they are in. When I told her the system works, she had to try it."

The Sayerses then shared it with their minister and it worked again.

Sayers was so impressed by the products that he wrote an unsolicited letter to the manufacturer and has been on a crusade ever since to spread the word to the tens of millions of other Americans searching for aspirin-free pain relief from sports injuries and arthritis.

"I am here to help other people. I don't need anything, didn't make a lot of money in football, but I did make money in business," said Sayers, who added that he earned $25,000 a year playing with the Bears from 1965 to 1970 "for the love of the game."

"I don't know what this stuff is, but it works," Sayers said. "There are many Americans in pain, and they want something that works."

I am not endorsing the product because I haven't tried it, nor fortunately had a need for it, but it might be worth checking out at www.bydoctorsonly.com.

It should come as no surprise, with the statistics available, that professional athletes suffer more joint pain than the general public. Runners, especially older runners, constantly complain of nagging joint pains, among other ailments.

Today's supplements and drugs may lengthen athletic careers, but Sayers, who owns his own computer company named Sayers 40 Inc., said he has no regrets about the brevity of his own.

"The Lord gave me talent, and he took it away," he said. "I used to run a lot. Right now, the only thing I do is the elliptical trainer and the stationary bike, with no pain. The pounding is too much. And I play golf. I'm 60 years old. I don't need to be running."
